2013 is my 13th year teaching at Sequoia Elementary and my 15th year as an elementary school teacher. I have taught kindergarten for most of my teaching career. I have also taught second grade.
I have lived in Sacramento since 4th grade, when my parents returned to California, their native state, after my dad retired from his career as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. In Sacramento, I attended Sacred Heart School, St. Mary School, and St. Francis High School.
I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature at UC Berkeley and my multiple subjects teaching credential at Chapman University. I am currently completing the coursework for my master’s degree in education at California State University, Sacramento with an emphasis in language and literacy.
My husband Tom and I have 3 sons. The 2 older sons are currently serving in the U.S. Navy. My youngest son is a college student in San Diego. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, learning new languages, and learning about different cultures.
I love being a part of our Sequoia School community. We have a wonderful staff, supportive families and community members, Best of all, I get to teach students who arrive at school every day, full of curiosity and excitement about learning new things!
