I have been teaching at Sequoia Elementary since 2000 and have been a kindergarten teacher for most of my time here. I have also taught second grade.
I have lived in Sacramento since 4th grade, when my parents returned to California, their native state, after my dad retired from his career as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. In Sacramento, I attended Sacred Heart School, St. Mary School, and St. Francis High School.
I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature at UC Berkeley and my multiple subjects teaching credential at Chapman University. In 2015, I completed my master’s degree in education at California State University, Sacramento, with an emphasis in language and literacy.
My husband Tom and I have 3 adult sons, 1 granddaughter, and 1 grandson. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, learning new languages, and learning about different cultures.
I love being a part of our Sequoia School community. We have a wonderful staff, supportive families and community members, Best of all, I get to teach students who arrive at school every day full of curiosity and excitement about learning new things!
